PRIME Study

Project Outlines and Aims

Memory clinics around Australia have combined to pool de-identified data of patients for the purposes of research. This powerful data base, which already includes over 600 patients and is growing daily, is expected to exceed 1000 patients before recruitment ceases. Patients are followed up using structured protocols and validated instruments to determine the course of cognitive and functional change, resource use and effects on caregivers over time. A research nurse, funded by Janssen-Cilag, is employed at each centre. The clinicians and the research are independent and clinical care is not linked to prescribing. Several conference papers have been submitted and papers are in progress.
